This is from a photo of the Carleton College printmaking studio, where I spent a good deal of my undergraduate years. The press, Old Ironsides, is the same one I used in the late ’60s early ’70s. They have a great collection of stones to print from, provided by former professor Dean Warnholtz, who found them being used for rip rap in a river in Canada. Dean was a big influence on me as an artist and a lot of what you see in the abstract works here are influenced by his work.
